Okay, maybe not NO guilt, because lets face it we women are good at 'guilting ourself' over the smallest thing. BUT, can I say a lot less guilt?! - hey its fruit, right?
Crisps or Crunches, or whatever you prefer to call it, are always comfort food to me. This is my lightened up version yet still a great easy recipe to use for the holiday season.
I hope you enjoy!
5 to 6 tart crisp apples such as Granny Smith, cored and sliced
1 Can WHOLE berry cranberry sauce
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 T oat flour, which is old fashioned or quick oats in food processor til flour like.
1 tsp Cinnamon
Mix all in mixing bowl and put in 8 x 8 baking dish.
Preheat oven to 350 and while that is warming prepare crumble topping:
1 cup of oat flour Minus the 2 T used above
1 cup oats
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup softened butter, preferred salted do NOT use margarine ....chemical laden. YUK!
1/2 tsp cinnamon.
Mix all together with a fork til a crumbly texture put on top of apple mixture and bake 30 to 40 minutes depending on accuracy of your oven but mostly until golden brown. I prefer it served warm!
